Hi there! I’m J. Case. I’ve been illustrating comics for most of my life—sometimes for a paycheck, sometimes just for the love of it, and occasionally both! I’ve worked on projects such as Misbegotten graphic novel series by Cesar Vaughan, Conor Timis’ Finnegan’s War and 625 narrated by Mark Hamill (yes, that Mark) and Michael Biehn (yes, that Michael), and many other various comic book projects, including my own Interactive Ink Initiative @ www.interactiveink.art
With the exception of my hyper realistic, detailed pencil drawings, I only ink and color digitally. For sequential art commissions, first I make rough digital sketches, and it is at this stage that the client will give me their input and green light the work for digital inking. I can also further color and letter the page, making me a One-Stop shop, if you prefer my style and are okay with my rates. Feel free to contact me at interactiveinkinitiative@gmail.com and mention that you are interested in hiring me. Happy hunting and have a great day!
Depending on the style and number of panels, it is between $300-400 per page, including sketching design, digital linking, digital color, lettering and optimizing the page for print.
Again, depending on the style, original character development and design is between $200 and $300 fully done.
Original, high detail, ultra realistic pencil drawing cover art will run between $400 and $500 depending on the amount of detail. You can then throw in an additional $100 for scanning, digitizing, coloring and logo-type / letterhead composition.
I do strictly comics and graphic novels. I have no interest in designing album covers, making logos, or rendering your family into superheroes. I only support and work with fellow indie comic book creators, artists and writers who are in the industry.
